Our Light, Our Spark

Never thought I'd find happiness,
at least not like this.
Seems everything I do,
the best I could, was all for you.
But it wasn't good enough.
I couldn't keep your love.

Like a match we caught fire then burnt out.
No need to feel sad, no need to shout.
Just like living we burn bright then we fade.
All we have are the memories we've made.
The flame goes out but instead of being left in the dark
we find a light that was there all along obscured by a brighter spark.
